Who May Submit
Submissions are open to all.
What to Submit
Videos should be in a common video format (i.e. .MP4, .MOV). All digital files must be 50 megabytes or smaller. Videos can be taken with any camera, however, if using a phone, please orient the phone horizontally. Vertical phone submissions may not get included.
The video, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material owned by the submitter. By submitting, the submitter represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted video is an original work created solely by the submitter, that the video does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the video.
The video must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the City of Reno, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
All entries must be submitted and received by May 4, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.
Releases
If the video contains any material or elements that are not owned by the submitter and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the video, the submitter is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the video, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the video. If any person appearing in any video is under the age of majority in their state/province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release.
Upon the City of Reno’s request, each submitter must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of request) a signed release from all persons who appear in the video submitted, authorizing City of Reno and its licensees ("Authorized Parties") to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Reignite Reno Project and promotion of the Reignite Reno Project, in any media now or hereafter known.
Selected Videos
The submitter warrants that he/she is the owner of the video and grants to City of Reno and its licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry. Submission of a video does not guarantee that it will be used by the City in any way. Any videos selected will be selected to compliment the Reignite Reno celebration.
License
By submitting, all submitters grant an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to the City of Reno to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the entries in any media now or hereafter known, including, but not limited to: Display at a potential exhibition; or online highlighting submissions. Submitters consent to the City of Reno doing or omitting to do any act that would otherwise infringe the submitter's "moral rights" in their entries. The City of Reno will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use. Additionally, by submitting, each submitter grants the City of Reno the unrestricted right to use all statements made in connection with the video or choose not to do so, at their sole discretion. The City of Reno will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.
Limitation of Liability
By submitting videos, all submitters agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the City of Reno and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation.
The City of Reno assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to video entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms. The City of Reno is not responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, human errors of any kind, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to submitters' or any other persons' computers related to or resulting from participation, uploading or downloading of any materials related to the Reignite Reno Project.
Conditions
To the extent permitted by law, the right to litigate, to seek injunctive relief or to make any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or claims resulting from or in connection with this project are hereby excluded and any submitter expressly waives any and all such rights. Certain restrictions may apply.
Data Privacy
Submitters agree that personal data, especially name and address, may be processed, shared, and otherwise used for the purposes and within the context of this project and any other purposes outlined in these Conditions. Personal data will be used by the City of Reno for the purposes stated herein, and may be disseminated pursuant to the Public Records Law, NRS Chapter 239.
